Windows X's Live is no longer basic blogging website for storing Windows X's creations and tech news. It's turned into complete portal for discovering new experiences about computer softwares. From now on, I'm going to show you how it's improved from previous system and why you should join in. Member systemFinally, the member system is back again so Windows X's Live community can grow from now on. There're several improvements with new MODx such as:

In an old system, it used to have member system but all it can do is just commenting news entry with plain text experiences. With MODx CMF, developers can easily expand the capabilities without in-depth knowledge of programming and now you can personalize your account such as avatar, personal information, signature, etc. You can view information of commented user by clicking on the username.
Although the default snippet bundled in MODx works quite well for commenting and moderating comments. However, it lacks the feasibility to express user's experiences like personal avatar, signature and viewing user profile like today's standard community should have. Luckily, MODx leaves room for stuff like these so I modify some codes in commenting to make comments looks more lively like you're seeing now.
In the new website, you can access the interested right after accessing product page and jump to other products from any page in product section. This should help visitor to read information about product easier. Also, you can access interested products from random screenshots in the sidebar too.
In old system, visitor can view screenshot of product by clicking thumbnail images with poor layout design and full image will be opened in a new window. In the new website, gallery is well-organized with title and description in fine layout. Back then, there was like only one screenshot per product in order to save bandwidth since it doesn't use thumbnail image. But now you can see more screenshots of each product in thumbnail and view full image in gallery browser!
Since some products contain very long information like Vista Transformation Pack, it's quite a trouble for some visitors to search for download link in such large information page. In the new website, download section is separated into another section for easier navigation and better understanding.
Nowadays tagging is another "can't miss" feature that every website should have. Though current WordPress has tagging system since 2.5. However, it was too late since I started using WordPress a year before that. Now Windows X's Live has tagging embedded in each item for browsing similar content with the same tag. At the moment, Windows X's Live implemented tagging support for news content and spotlight articles.
This newly introduced section is for special writing that is outstanding for common daily news. Expecting to fill good articles with well-organized structure is a goal for running a new website. Hoping to expand the community's interests with more stuff, though.
