With the proposed Metro Style in Windows 8, Internet Explorer 10 will be free from the plugins like Flash Player or even Silverlight. With an HTTP header or Meta tag, IE10 Metro will notify the user and offer him a button to open the site with IE10 on the desktop. Still, for John Hrvatin, Internet Explorer product manager: "a web without plugins benefits users and developers and we take part in this transition". Already singled out on mobile devices (for energy consumption in particular), the browser plugins to have decidedly out of favor.
