Multiplatform, Songbird is a music and video player, also serves as manager music library like iTunes which is often presented as for open source. Songbird uses the VLC media player, a SQLite database and runtime environment which xulrunner rendering engine Gecko became famous for its use in Firefox. The software supports management and web radios podcasts, supports multiple audio formats (MP3, WMA, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC ...). Some small reminders beforehand to announce the publication of a new version of Songbird 1.1.2 which has the good taste to correct a rather embarrassing problem noted by several users. It is that Songbird is not directly involved but an add-on to manage the contents of an iPod. Following the previous update to Songbird, users have lost the contents of their digital music player. Version 1.1.2 rectifies this problem by preventing the installation of add-on question (a particular version of this extension) via the updating of a list of blocking. Apart from this problem, two other important bugs have been fixed, and in this case a crash in Windows, changing the volume when listening to the reading of two files with a different sampling rate. Other concerns addressed are listed in the release notes with some specific to the host platform. Download Songbird latest edition.
