Snow Transformation Pack 1.5 - Do the right things right

Windows X's Live recommends:
Before and after making any changes to your system: Check Windows for registry errors
and make sure to run a free scan to check check for windows errors causing speed loss

Finally, it's time for the second release of Snow Transformation Pack. Since this release is mainly for fixing bugs I found so people who enjoy first release without problem may not find it exciting. But for people who couldn't get it working right, this version should be a lot better than the first ones. You can now use application like jDownloader and install in non-English edtion OS without trouble. Dock is now RocketDock with older but more stable StackDocklet. I still don't know what really caused no sound issue so let's hope it got fixed right among things I did in this release.

Changes in version 1.5

-Changed Dock application from RK Launcher to RocketDock with older StackDocklet for performance/stability (new configuration)
-Fixed Desktop Theme Enhancements being checked even they aren't checked from configuration
-Fixed FontSmoothingGamma value that breaks some applications like jDownloader
-Fixed reboot prompt to restore Windows Explorer shell if user choose not to reboot
-Fixed system files modification compatibilities with non-English edition OS
-Fixed x64 system files modification compatibilities

Startup
Reply #106 on : Mon October 10, 2011, 10:47:59
It's working flawlessly for me, however I tweaked one thing...

- I'm using the RocketDock I installed before getting this so I can theme my dock. I suggest installing it on your own and using that one.

Also, I'd appreciate in the next update to this if an option was included to not use the Mac OS X startup menu (the user selection and apple logo on startup), because it looks... bad. Either that or just not include it. Thanks! ^_^

I wanted to let you know that it's start menu is still Vista/7. And, I want to check it out the Snow Transformation Pack using Virtual PC 2007 :D!
I want to show you the whole change though! :)
Because the Change in version 1.5 is that there is the Rocketdock from Stardock Inc. (Rocketdock Powered) and the Fixed FontSmoothingGamma value that breaks some applications like jDownloader, IE Download and more! :P and fixed Reboot Prompt and Many More! :)

I downloaded the STP, but when i wanted to unistall it, it doesn't do it completly.
Only the dock, is removed, and the taskbar is back to normal.
But further everything is still the same (logg in schreem, icons ect.)
What i have to do now, i already tried windows systhem recovery to uninstall it again, and that doesn't worked.

I see you dont know that in 64 bit windows system32 is actually used for storing 64 bit dlls, and SysWoW64 for 32 bit dlls. WoW64 is actually a kind of an emulator (better said subsystem) which emulates (automatically) 32 bit environment so user can run 32 bit applications on 64 bit windows. WoW64 = Windows (32 bit) on Windows 64 bit.

P.S. On my PC (Asrock P55 PRO USB3, Core i5 760, 4 GB DDR3, 3,6TB HDD - 1TB + 2TB + 640GB, Gigabyte GTX460OC 768MB) this transformation pack works without any problems, even sound works.

This is cool, and I know that this is designed for Windows Vista and 7, but is there even the slightest possibility that this will work for any version of Windows XP?

Log On Screen
Reply #85 on : Thu February 24, 2011, 16:39:55
So after installing the pack everything loaded perfectly fine and works great for me...except the log on screen is still Windows 7 and looks nothing like a Mac's. I was wondering if there was a way to fix this since it shows on the product page that it should look like a Macs. I've tried different log on programs and all that does is change the background picture...I want the mac log on as shown. Could someone please help me with this issue?

It was nice to find an transformation app that self installed without having to manually swap out system files. It installed with no problems everything worked perfectly. Thanks for creating such a polished app.

To everyone has no sounds after installing STP. try this fix.

Uninstall and try to install again using “Customize" mode, then only select "Apply system files transformation".

Please report back whether it worked for you or not.

Great job lucifiar if you dont mind i have some suggestions that may be useful .. its pretty much perfect apart from a few things ..
1. try using Leftsider to move the close, minimize and restore buttons to the left just like in the mac os systems also i couldnt help but notice the taskbar is a little thick im not sure if lee could help out on that situation .. most probably :) and one more thing .. i reccomend using finder bar to make the taskbar a little more .. pretty .. in a way thanks please consider some of these programs in your next Transformation pack. link to leftsider http://www.askvg.com/leftsider-move-windows-titlebar-buttons-to-the-left-with-this-small-free-utility/ link to finderbar http://landvermesser.tripod.com/
once again Great work mate :)

64bit have some issues !
Reply #71 on : Wed January 05, 2011, 10:53:11
First I say Thanks to Trnsformation pack Team.In 64 bit edition of Windows have both 32 and 64 bit Dynamic link librarys (.dll), they are located in '/Windows/Ststem32' & '/Windows/Wow64' folders. Transformation pack only modify the ' imageres.dll and 'shell32.dll' located in 'System32' folder, but 64bit dll wont modified. If I try to save files in 64bit applications I can see windows default icons after sucssfully installed TP 1.5 .Others works fine. I love this pack. Plz fix this issue plz

Cannot uninstall
Reply #69 on : Sat January 01, 2011, 13:20:30
I installed this on my windows computer but the welcome center did not show up. Also, there is no program listing so I cannot uninstall! I am very angry and just want this program off my computer. Now. I contacted the administrator here and they were no help at all. I have never had so much trouble as I have had with this program. Never. It is almost as if it is a piece of malware.

to get rid of the sounds just go to control panel, then to sounds, after that go to sounds then go under sound scheme and pick the one that says windows default. and the sound will never come back.
