Ever heard of "Morro"? Neither had I until today. It appears the boys and girls at Microsoft have been planning a nice surprise for consumers. Focused on "core anti-malware protection", Morro is a streamlined solution expected in the second half of 2009 that will offer comprehensive protection from malware, including viruses, spyware, root kits and trojans. While Microsoft has seen it fit to keep XP around as its "relatively non-bloated OS" alternative to the Linux that has dominated this new category of "ultra low-cost PCs" (ULPCs), they're certainly not giving away the farm.
