Under the Hood

The main function of Vista Transformation Pack is emulating the UI of Windows Vista. This task is achieved by replacing key system files within the computer with those that deliver the Vista experience. These files might include icons, taskbars, sounds, and animations.

The basic transformation revolves around the OS shell style that dictates the look and feel of Windows XP. By patching the system using UXThemePatcher, customization of the shell style is unlocked. With Vista Transformation Pack, this process is intrinsic and automated, giving you ready access to customizing your computer from the various options available to you during installation.

Designed for Functionality

The array of options gives you full control over the extent you can convert your system. With the basic set of Vista Transformation Pack options, it is capable of converting the following list of UI features:

Configure user accountAnimations

Boot / Log on / Log off screens

Cursor set

Screensavers

Sound effects

System software theming

Taskbar

Toolbar

Visual Styles

Wallpapers

Window borders

These options and more can all be changed using the Welcome Center added by Vista Transformation Pack.

Bundled Software

Along with the standard shell style change, come several options for different third party applications that you can install. These range from adding start menu search functionality to adding toolbars, to adding sidebars.

Here is a list of available software bundled with Vista Transformation Pack:

LClockLClock

A system tray replacement with an Aero UI. Includes a calendar replacement and is skinnable.

Thoosje's SidebarThoosje’s Sidebar

ViOrbViOrb

VisualTooltipVisualToolTip

Allows for live thumbnails previews of open windows by hovering the mouse over the taskbar area.

ViStartViStart

Replaces the Windows XP start menu with a Windows Vista start menu. Includes a real live search functionality and is skinnable.

StylerStyler

This program adds taskbar extensions in the explorer windows and can switch the normal one for a Vista look-alike.

WinFlipWinFlip

It emulates the Win+Tab window browsing function of Windows Vista and maps it onto Alt+Tab.

This emulates the Aero interface by adding transparent borders.
