How to install NetBEUI protocol in windows xp?

Windows X's Live recommends:
Before and after making any changes to your system: Check Windows for registry errors.
TuneUp Utilities: Clean up your PC and improve your PCs performance - Try now for free!

The NetBEUI is no longer proposed in the list of protocols that can be installed in Windows XP. Indeed Microsoft has decided to abandon the protocol since it no longer used in business for some years and less in SMEs. However the protocol, though not routable, is very fast when transferring files from one machine to another in a small local network. In addition, it requires no setup unlike other more advanced protocols such as TCP / IP, immediately installed it is operational. In short, NetBEUI can still be used for home networks.

Here's how to install it:

Insert your Windows XP CD and then go to the following directory:

\ VALUEADD \ MSFT \ NET \ NETBEUI

Copy the file in the directory nbf.sys WINNT \ System32 \ DRIVERS \

Copy the file in the directory netnbf.inf WINNT \ INF \

Then go to Network properties of your network card, click "Install ..." Select Protocol and click Add ...

After the search in finished you will see NetBEUI in right frame of small window, select it and click OK to install.
