How to Fix Windows Vista Flash 8 bug

Windows X's Live recommends:
Before and after making any changes to your system: Check Windows for registry errors.
TuneUp Utilities: Clean up your PC and improve your PCs performance - Try now for free!

To solve this terrible problem with Flash 8 inside Windows Vista:

  • Type "help and support" in the search bar of the start menu and confirm
  • The new module using vista opens.
  • Do a search on "compatibility wizard" (always in the module aid)
  • Click on the first answer: "start the assistant program compatibility" then open it.
  • Click next until the assistant is generated list of programs.
  • Choose Macromedia Flash compatibility and select the "Microsoft Windows XP" before clicking "next".
  • Check the boxes "disable visual themes" and "disable the officers" and confirm everything.

Let me note that in upcoming version Flash 9 will be fully compatible with Windows Vista so you do not have to repeat this tricks. It is also possible to do the same thing by changing the properties to launch the software but this wizard can test various configurations.
