BitDefender announced the launch of free security solutions for Windows XP / Vista, contrary to what their names suggest: Anti-Phishing BitDefender Free Edition BitDefender and Chat Encryption. Anti-Phishing BitDefender Free Edition is designed to offer the user protection against phishing via a toolbar that is added to its browser Internet Explorer or Firefox. A mechanism for black and white list or a list of phishing sites regularly updated and a list of trusted sites added by the user is engaged to ensure this protection. It should be noted however that the protection against phishing has become a quasi standard for browsers that proposed by default. BitDefender's solution is also interested in filtering phishing links in instant messaging Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger.
